Sacha Dench

Adventure

Sacha Dench, “The Human Swan”, is a remarkable conservationist known for her diverse contributions, from wildlife biology to film and photography projects. As a Director of PR for global conservation organisations, she communicates complex conservation issues in inspiring and creative ways, taking her audiences on journeys that challenge their limits.

Notably, Sacha undertook the ‘Flight of the Swans’ expedition, traveling 7,000 km from arctic Russia to the UK via paramotor to investigate declining swan populations. This project gained significant media coverage and conservation successes, earning her the Britannia Trophy.

She also held the world record for underwater breath-holding, using this skill in television roles and advocacy efforts for shark and turtle conservation.
Sacha founded ‘Conservation without Borders’ to connect individuals, communities, businesses, and governments with frontline conservation and climate action. The charity plans and executes expeditions following migratory species’ paths across geographical and political borders.
Despite losing her home to a climate change-induced bushfire and wearing double prosthetic orthotics after a life-changing accident, Sacha exemplifies human resilience.

Her supporters include Sir David Attenborough, Ranulph Fiennes, Dame Judi Dench, Ann Daniels, and Joanna Lumley. Sacha has received numerous awards and is the UN Ambassador for Migratory Species, supporting goals such as Gender Equality, Climate Action, Life Below Water, and Life on Land.
