Zara Murad

Dressage

Zara Murad is a professional dressage rider based in Shropshire and the first rider in history to represent Iraq in the sport of dressage.

Riding from a young age, Zara always knew she wanted to work with horses so once she left sixth form she went to work on an eventing yard. Working not for money but for gaining knowledge and horsemanship skills. She now runs a yard in Shropshire, is a fully qualified British Dressage coach and is most well known for taking a “hunt bred horse” to the highest levels in dressage!

When she was younger she gained her black belt in karate and fought on an international team where she won medals around the world. She feels this taught her the discipline she needs to get to the highest levels even in equestrian sports! Now with the skills and determination she is aiming for the top in the equestrian sport of dressage.

Zara’s aims are to get to the Asian Games in 2026 and be the first rider to represent Iraq in an Olympic Games at LA2028.
