Anne Wafula Strike MBE, is a Paralympian and a multi-disciplinary expert whose work spans elite athletics, global policy, and social advocacy. Her expertise focuses on disability rights, equality, diversity, and inclusion and sporting governance and leadership, and building cohesive communities.
She has extensive experience in high-level sports administration, having served as a Non-Executive Director for UK Athletics (2014–2022) where she successfully reviewed the Classification system, and the British Paralympic Association (2018–present). In these roles, she provides strategic oversight and champions athlete-led policies. Anne has knowledge of International Diplomacy, In 2020, she was appointed as the Commonwealth Secretariat Special Envoy Champion for Equality and inclusion in Sports. In this capacity, she worked to implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to sport, peace, and development across 54 nations. Her work has seen her be awarded two honorary Doctorates Degrees.
As a champion for Equality, Diversity, & Inclusion (EDI), She is an expert in the intersection of race, gender, and disability. She has served as Head of Equality & Diversity for private recruitment firms and acts as an EDI Champion for organisations like Active Essex and British Paralympics.
As a polio survivor, a high-profile Rotary Polio Ambassador and works with the British Polio Fellowship, Global Polio eradication to raise awareness of vaccination, and post-polio syndrome. Shes ambitious, driven, learner, Integrity, adaptable, accountable, likes reading, and cooking.
She founded Olympia-Wafula Foundation with a strong vision to promote healthy living solutions for disabled people and those disadvantaged, with special emphasis on education, mobility and advocacy to empower and enrich their lives through social inclusion. The work is spread in Kenya, Malawi, Swaziland, Nepal, Haiti and the U.K.
She also supports various charities in the capacity of ambassador, champion and patron.
In 2014, Anne was awarded an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire)
