Cyril Derreumaux

Adventure

Cyril Derreumaux is a French/American adventurer and explorer, ocean kayaker, and entrepreneur, known for his ultra-endurance ocean crossings. Fluent in French, English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, he considers himself a citizen of the world and is driven by a passion for living life to the fullest, pushing both physical and mental limits.

In 2016, Cyril was part of a 4-man crew that set a Guinness World Record in the Great Pacific Race, rowing from California to Hawaii in 39 days, 9 hours, and 56 minutes, covering 2,400 miles.

In 2021, he attempted a solo, unsupported and 100% human-powered kayak expedition from California to Hawaii but had to abandon the journey after 6 days due to severe weather. Undeterred, he successfully completed the 2,400-mile solo voyage in 2022, taking 91 days in his custom-built kayak, Valentine, earning a second Guinness World Record.

Cyril regularly speaks publicly, sharing motivational insights from his adventures.

Cyril’s life philosophy revolves around authenticity, living adventurously, and learning through experiences to inspire others: “Dare, Live, Learn, Share, Inspire”.

In December 2024, Cyril will attempt a solo kayak journey across the Atlantic, from the Canary Islands to Martinique, aiming to cover 3,000 miles in 75 days. He actively promotes ocean conservation and mental health, supported by Clubhouse Mental Residences.

Cyril’s story continues to inspire through podcasts, and public speaking engagements.
