Adventure
Dr. Timm Döbert, a Canadian-German explorer, impact athlete, and storyteller, investigates human impacts on ecosystems globally, committed to protect nature. His research is widely featured across scientific journals, educational books and the broad spectrum of media outlets. He holds fellowships in the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, the Scientific Exploration Society, the Explorers Club, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Timm has completed Ironman events, marathons, bike races, and multi-week cycling expeditions.
Timm is the mind behind the Wings of Survival concept, a ground-breaking Athletes for Nature initiative, that uniquely blends extreme sport, scientific exploration, and nature education into impact storytelling. Starting June 2026, Timm and his expedition partner Leanna Carriere will cover 30,000km by bicycle and packraft, from Alaska’s High Arctic to the southern tip of South America. Throughout this maiden Wings of Survival expedition, they will document in writing, film and photography, the world’s greatest endurance athletes – migratory birds – and engage with the people stewarding nature.
The Wings of Survival film will be documented by Moving Artistry Productions (Canada) and independent wildlife film producer Ben Wallis (UK).
Strong partnerships are front and center to the Wings of Survival initiative. Join Timm and Leanna in their quest to write and tell a story of unwavering resilience and hope for a future in which all species thrive.
