Ellie Aldridge is one of the world’s leading female Formula Kite athletes & winner of Paris 2024 Olympic Gold – the sport’s first ever female Gold medallist.
Her achievements are stellar. She is the winner of four World Cup medals, the 2023 European Champion and Silver medallist at the 2023 World Championships before her incredible Paris 2024 victory.
She’s the first female athlete ever to win Olympic Gold in kitesurfing and she also won the first ever race in the new Olympic sport – incidentally the fastest sport at the Paris 2024 Olympics with racers reaching up to 40 knots.
She is now also a team member of the GB Athena Pathway team, who are aiming to win the first ever Women’s America’s Cup in October 2024.
Recalling her first sailing experience Ellie remembers being ‘dragged’ on to a boat at her local sailing club, Parkstone YC, with her mother at the age of seven!
Fast forward to 2024 and now you can’t get the Dorset local off the water! Whether it’s a skiff, dinghy, multihull or even a kiteboard, Ellie loves to compete on the water or just rip around for fun.
Off the water she is hugely passionate about marine sustainability & protecting the oceans for the next generation.
