Lydia Heywood, is a 21 year old International Event Rider representing Jamaica who competitively produces quality horses.

Lydia is also a personable proven leader, mentoring minority riders worldwide with a focus on creating opportunities and increasing diversity and inclusion. As the proud founder of Cool Ridings and ambassador for Ebony Riding Club, Brixton, London she is at the forefront of bringing equality to the sport of equestrian.

She has gained the honour of being Jamaica’s only elite equestrian representative and has an incredible drive to achieve within the sport at the highest level. In 2016 Zara Phillips presented Lydia with the Sarah Staples memorial cup for Best regional rider.
More recently Lydia made a great start to the year placing 2nd with her Horse Mink at their first event of 2022 and has now got her focus set on representing Jamaica at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

She understands the level of commitment and hard work that is required to ride and win at the highest level, and believes she has the talent and drive to succeed.
