Ollie Hynd MBE is a three-time Paralympic champion swimmer, inspirational keynote speaker and media personality.
Having been inspired by his older brother Sam – who won gold at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games – Ollie began competing internationally at just 16 years old, making his debut at the European championships in 2011. Ollie then went on to win three gold, two silver and one bronze Paralympic medals.
Throughout his decade-long swimming career, he also won four gold and two bronze World Championship medals, six gold and four silver European Championship medals, and one gold Commonwealth medal.
After his performances on the international stage, Ollie Hynd was appointed an MBE in 2013 for his services to swimming. He was also awarded the Disabled Sportsperson of the Year accolade at the 2014 and 2015 Nottinghamshire Sports Awards and was presented with the Freedom of Mansfield in 2016.
Since retiring from international swimming in 2021, Ollie now uses his sporting journey to inspire and motivate audiences to overcome adversity, achieve their goals, and improve lives. He also continues to be involved in the sport in a mentor capacity. Ollie has also continued his work within the media, to further grow and expand Para sport in the UK and beyond.
