Seonaid McIntosh is the daughter of international shooting stars Shirley and Donald, and the younger sister of two-time Olympian Jennifer.

She established herself as a global player by topping the 50m rifle three positions ranks at the 2017 European Championships, before picking up 50m rifle prone gold at the World Championships a year later. In 2019, McIntosh won three World Cup medals – including gold at the final in Putian, China – and became the first British woman to be ranked world No.1 for the 50m rifle three positions event.

Tokyo 2020 marked McIntosh’s debut on the Olympic stage, where she finished 12th and 14th in the women’s 10m air rifle and 50m rifle 3 positions events respectively. Although this wasn’t enough to reach the final she can be proud of her Olympic debut in Japan.

The shooter was back in Team GB kit at the 2023 European Games in Poland and shot to a bronze medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions. Already having secured a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics, McIntosh is constantly proving her strength on the world stage.

Seonaid also delivers public speaking engagements on a variety of topics including transferable skills from sport to everyday life. She also speaks to young groups about overcoming adversity from her own experience of dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis from a young age and about balancing studies & sports.

She also has a serious passion for learning & loves to learn and have a wide variety of interests. Her undergraduate degree at Heriot Watt university was in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and she has a PG Diploma from the University of Edinburgh in Performance Psychology. Currently, she is studying for a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Strathclyde.

Seonaid also loves music and plays a variety of instruments to very varying standards, all for fun these days although she used to compete in competition Pipe Band as a youngster!
