Will Bayley MBE is one of Great Britain’s most celebrated Paralympians, a world-renowned para table tennis champion, inspirational keynote speaker, and passionate advocate for resilience, inclusion, and high performance.
Born with arthrogryposis, a rare congenital condition affecting all four limbs, Will has overcome extraordinary adversity throughout his life. At just seven years old, he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and it was during his recovery from cancer that his grandmother introduced him to table tennis—a moment that would change his life forever.
Since making his international debut for Great Britain in 2006, Will has become one of the most successful athletes in the history of British para table tennis. His remarkable career includes becoming Paralympic Champion at Rio 2016, multiple-time World Champion, European Champion, and World No. 1. Across five Paralympic Games, he has won an outstanding collection of medals, cementing his place among the sport’s all-time greats.
In recognition of his achievements and services to table tennis, Will was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2017 New Year Honours.
Away from competition, Will became a household name through his appearance on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, where his determination and infectious personality won the hearts of millions. His story of overcoming disability, childhood cancer, setbacks, and elite sporting pressure has made him one of the UK’s most sought-after motivational speakers.
Today, Will inspires audiences around the world by sharing the mindset that has driven his success. Speaking to businesses, schools, charities, and sporting organisations, he delivers powerful insights into resilience, leadership, embracing change, performing under pressure, and turning adversity into opportunity.
