Netball Aid 2026 to bring sport and entertainment together in support of Shelter
Netball Aid 2026 is set to bring together the worlds of sport, entertainment and business for a major charity event raising funds and awareness for homelessness charity, Shelter.
Taking place in Birmingham on Sunday November 15th at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham Netball Aid 2026 will harness the excitement, energy and inclusive spirit of netball to support Shelter’s work tackling women & girls homelessness and housing injustice across the UK. Last year’s first event was a huge success making £40,000 for Children in Need and the 2026 focus is on homelessness and the work Shelter do.

Netball Aid was inspired by singer-songwriter, Robbie Williams, and his success with Soccer Aid, and the event’s co-founders Trish Adudu and Alison Akinrinola, who met playing England Netball, thought that Netball could follow that lead.
The event will feature the likes of Dame Laura Kenny OBE, Dame Denise Lewis OBE, Jade Jones MBE, Caroline Dubois, Chelsea Pitman, Geva Mentor, Sian Welby, Karishma – winner of The Apprentice 2026, Zach Noble, Ava Hirons, Chris Robshaw, Mr 100, Athena The Gladiator and Gregory Piper with the final line-up expected to include other sporting stars, celebrities, media personalities and special guests.
Supporters will be able to enjoy an entertaining day of competitive netball, an Invictus Games 2027 demonstration and with it being netball’s 100 year anniversary (and with Netball originating out of Basketball), the afternoon will features a ‘Battle of the Balls Face Off’ between the England Men’s Netball and the Birmingham Basketball Rockets!
Netball Aid 2026 will also provide brands and businesses with an opportunity to support an important social cause making a meaningful difference to females facing homelessness while connecting with a highly engaged audience, particularly women and families from across Birmingham, the West Midlands and the wider UK.

Alison Akinrinlola co-founder of Netball Aid 2026, said:
“Netball has an incredible ability to bring people together. Netball Aid 2026 will use that power to create an exciting and memorable event while raising vital funds and awareness for homeless women & girls through Shelter.
“We want to unite players, personalities, businesses and supporters behind a cause that affects far too many people across the country. We are looking forward to creating a brilliant occasion that delivers both sporting entertainment, helping netball reach a wider audience and genuine social impact.”
“Our focus will be on building meaningful partnerships, generating national and regional awareness and helping Netball Aid raise as much money as possible for Shelter. We would love to hear from brands and organisations interested in joining us and playing an important role in the event.”
A range of commercial partnership and sponsorship opportunities is available, allowing organisations to support the event through financial backing, products, services, media exposure and promotional activity.
Further announcements covering the venue, participating talent, teams, sponsors and ticket information will be made in the coming weeks.
